New Year, New Exciting Times

Welcome to 2016 Threaders!

2016 has kicked off with a bang and here in the Rough Threads office there is a mountain of excitement and activity. This year will be our largest yet, with new event locations and a number of mini Rough Threads popping up in Community Centres and Agencies across NSW. We will be hosting events in Villawood, a new Northern Beaches location, the South West along with our regular inner city spots. We are growing fast and really excited to bring the Rough Threads social connectedness model to these new communities.

Closer to home, we have welcomed two fabulous new faces to the Rough Threads office. Lisa and Mandy, our Volunteer Managers are available on Thursdays to answer any volunteering questions, along with working with our existing 250 strong volunteer base. Both Lisa and Mandy have a passion for social justice, have strong experience in the not for profit sector and are already bringing great ideas and lots of fun to the office.

We have launched a new drop off point in Camperdown, which will take over from our Woolloomooloo storage space for 2016. The team at Storage King Camperdown have been incredibly supportive and we are delighted to be partnering with them.

We will also be launching our Schools Program in 2016, which will get students involved in supporting Rough Threads and understanding the challenges of those experiencing disadvantage. For more information on this program

Finally a HUGE thank you to you, the companies and small businesses that supported us throughout 2015. Rough Threads exists simply because people reach out and want to support those doing it tough. We could not operate without your generous offers of time, financial support, goods and services. We wish all our supporters and our clients a wonderful and exciting 2016.
